Mel and her staff welcome you to the Black Bear Wool Free House.
The Black Bear is in the oldest part of Wool village. The pub dates from the 19th century and has retained is Victorian charm.
Being a Free-house for two years we serve great ales – we have 4 pumps that offer a changing selection of real ales. Check out our Facebook page for the latest Ales. Friendly and efficient service with a smile. Great value home cooked food. A variety of entertainment from specials nights, to quizzes and live music.
In the hands of Mel the Black Bear has become a local focal point (a “real” pub) where people can be found at any time of the day. Whether its having a coffee, cream tea, enjoying a drink in company or taking advantage of the great food or entertainment. Being on the way to Lulworth Cove and Castle means a good amount of passing trade made welcome from morning coffee, through lunch to afternoon tea and dinner.
Check out our recent CAMRA review and we’ve just been voted CAMRA pub of the season.
The recently refurbished beer garden is a lovely spot to enjoy the Dorset sunshine as well as watch the world go by.
Our popular Summer and Sunday Lunch menu are available as are our Baguettes and Nachos. Check out our winter Curry Nights.
